Injuries continue to plague Liverpool’s roster this season, and the latest to join the long series of absences will be goalkeeper Alisson Becker, according to what Jurgen Klopp announced.
The Brazilian has been absent from the field since the second week in February, and the initial announcement was that his injury is not serious and it is a matter of time and he will return to protect the Reds’ den.
But in the press conference for the Liverpool match against Nottingham Forest, Klopp confirmed the opposite, and said that Alisson would be absent for a long time.
The German coach spoke in this regard, saying, “Allison’s injury is serious, and he will need a long time to return to the field.”
He also added, “There is no specific time for his recovery, but it is a strong muscle injury and not an injury that will cause him to be absent for a short period.”
He concluded, “He will need a long time to recover, but I assure you that he will return before the end of this season.”
It is noteworthy that Liverpool will lose the services of Joel Matip and Diogo Jota until the end of the season, and suffers from long absences such as Alexander Arnold, Thiago Alcantara, Dominic Sobosolai and Ryan Gravenberg, and Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez continue to be absent in the last two weeks due to injury as well.
