Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp refused to comment on what happened between him and Mohamed Salah before Al-Masry appeared for the West Ham match, and only said that the matter was discussed between them in the locker room.
While Salah entered the stadium in the 79th minute, he quarreled violently with Klopp, before Darwin Nunez intervened to resolve the crisis between them.
The match ended with Liverpool drawing with West Ham 2-2, and with it the Reds’ chances of achieving the Premier League title in Klopp’s last season at Anfield were severely reduced.
When the German coach was asked by the English newspapers about what happened with Salah, he replied, “I cannot say what we said to each other on the field.”
He also added, “We later talked about it in the locker room, but I can’t say what happened on the line.”
He continued, “I think the matter has ended after our discussion. Yes, this is my feeling. There is no crisis now.”
He concluded, “We had to beat West Ham today. The fate of achieving the title is no longer in our hands. We will try to make the players psychologically ready for the next match, as we have some time this time.”
