Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp, did not hesitate to announce that he would be the first Borussia Dortmund supporter and fan in the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
Klopp owes a lot to Dortmund, who made him one of the best coaches in the world after he signed him from Mainz in 2008, and he continued there until 2015, achieving many achievements.
Klopp was the coach of the German club in the last European final that the Yellow and Black reached in 2013, when they lost to their compatriot Bayern Munich 2-1 at Wembley Stadium.
While speaking to the media, Klopp was asked how he would watch the Real Madrid-Dortmund match, and whether he would be a fan or a critic, to which he responded strongly, “Are you crazy? A fan of Dortmund, of course?”
He also added, “I am really very happy with what Dortmund has achieved.”
He concluded, “All the people I know in Dortmund are still there. I am really happy for them and they have achieved a great and beautiful achievement and I hope they win against Real Madrid.”
It is noteworthy that Dortmund, under Klopp’s leadership, eliminated Real Madrid from the 2013 semi-finals on aggregate 4-3, while the German coach subsequently lost the final twice with Liverpool to the Spanish club.
