The Athletic network revealed that Ruben Amorim, who is classified as the first candidate to succeed Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool coach, is in advanced negotiations with West Ham in order to lead the team next season.
In recent hours, the English media confirmed that West Ham had reached an agreement with David Moyes to end his career at the London club at the end of the current season.
The West Ham administration places Amorim as one of the top candidates to succeed Moyes at the London Olympic Stadium, and it appears that the Portuguese coach is close to joining the English club despite his previous association with Liverpool.
Although the 39-year-old Amorim’s contract with Sporting Lisbon still extends for two years, a release clause of approximately 15 million euros allows him to leave for any European club starting next summer.
At the same time, the famous journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Amorim never reached an agreement with the Liverpool management to succeed Klopp, although communication between the Reds management and him had occurred at some point.
This raises many question marks about who will sit in the technical management chair at Anfield next season, after Xabi Alonso refused to succeed Klopp, and Simone Inzaghi renewed his contract with Inter.
It remains to be noted that British newspapers had previously referred to the name of Roberto De Zerbe as a possible option to succeed Klopp, and Jose Mourinho also appeared in the match between Liverpool and Fulham and also sparked great controversy about the possibility of a sudden move with his return to training from the Reds gate.
