Feyenoord coach Arne Slott announced his desire to move to coach Liverpool next season, succeeding Jurgen Klopp, and asked his club management to allow him to terminate his contract and leave for Anfield.
The English media had confirmed the existence of negotiations between the Liverpool and Feyenoord administrations in recent days to discuss compensation paid by the English club in exchange for signing Slot.
The coach spoke to the media on Thursday and said in this regard, “I am confident that Feyenoord will let me leave for Liverpool. It will be a very big step for me.”
He also added, “Now there are negotiations between the two parties. I am waiting for what will happen. I am happy, of course, at Feyenoord, but Liverpool is a great opportunity for me.”
He concluded, “I want to be Liverpool’s coach. My decision is clear in this regard. I am confident that the two clubs will reach an agreement soon.”
It is noteworthy that Feyenoord is demanding an amount worth more than 10 million euros in order to allow the departure of Slot, whose contract still extends until 2026 at the Dutch club.
