Pedri Gonzalez’s participation with the Spain national team in Euro 2024 ended after Toni Kroos’ violent intervention against him in La Roja’s match against Germany in the quarter-finals.
Pedri played only 8 minutes against Germany, before he was subjected to a very violent intervention from Kroos, as a result of which he fell and injured his knee and left the field to be replaced by Dani Olmo.
According to Spanish media, Pedri suffers from an internal lateral sprain in his left knee, because of which he will not be able to play again with Spain in the Euros.
The period of Pedri’s absence from the field will range from a week to a month, and it will depend on the severity of the injury, which will become clear after undergoing more accurate examinations in the next few hours.
This means that Pedri, in the worst case scenario, will be delayed in joining Barcelona’s pre-season for the new season, and he may only miss the first round of La Liga unless he is new.
Spain won 2-1 over Germany, thus qualifying for the semi-finals, and Kroos’s football career also ended.
