Laporta announces Barcelona’s economic readiness to include the “dream player”!

Barcelona President, Joan Laporta, confirmed that the Catalan club currently has the economic capacity to sign the star of Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish national team, Nico Williams, in the current summer Mercato.

Barca is looking for a left winger, and including Williams remains the dream option for Laporta’s management, while Liverpool star Luis Diaz appears as the second option if the inclusion of the Basque star fails.

The critical economic situation in Barcelona is still the reason for the club’s inability to conclude new contracts in general, but according to Laporta, the Blaugrana can easily include Williams currently.

In a press interview, Laporta was asked about Williams and he replied, “Of course I like him very much, and given our economic situation now, yes, we can sign him.”

He also added, “It is the result of great work over 3 years in order to reach this point again in the club’s economy.”

It is expected that the value of the 19-year-old will not be less than 60 million euros, which logically makes Barcelona need to sell Rafinha at least to finance the deal, despite Laporta’s reassuring words in this regard.

Williams was very prominent last season with Bilbao, before he became the talk of everyone after his remarkable brilliance with the Spain national team in Euro 2024 and forming a distinguished duo with Lamine Yamal in particular.
