Aymeric Laporte has shut the door on a departure from Al-Nassr following rumors of interest from Real Madrid and other clubs.
Spanish newspaper AS had reported that Real Madrid’s management had asked Laporte to terminate his contract with Al-Nassr in order to join the royal club for free this summer.
Al-Nassr’s official account posted a statement from Laporte in which he confirmed his happiness at being with Al-Nassr upon the end of his vacation and his ambitions for the upcoming season.
The Spanish international said, “I am very happy to be back at Al-Nassr.”
He added, “There are matches waiting for us and I am very excited for the season to start, even if it is a bit early to say this.”
He concluded, “I am happy to be here, and I strive to make this team better every day.”
It is worth noting that Laporte will start the new season with Al-Nassr by facing Al-Taawoun next week in the semi-finals of the Saudi Super Cup.
