While Barcelona struggles to find any solution to register Dani Olmo and complete the season with the Blaugrana, the Spanish star’s former club, Leipzig, is demanding additional funds!
Barcelona signed Olmo from Leipzig last summer for nearly €60 million, and the Catalan club is obligated to pay the full amount even if the player leaves this winter.
According to “Cadena COPE,” there are easily achievable variables worth €10 million that Barcelona must pay if Olmo achieves certain collective and individual milestones with the Blaugrana.
Since Olmo might leave Barcelona, and consequently, the club would not pay these additional fees, Leipzig is considering legal action to secure these funds.
Leipzig wants to file a lawsuit against Barcelona, demanding these payments, arguing that the early termination of Olmo’s contract could be seen as a form of circumvention or manipulation.
It is unclear whether the German club’s position will be strong or not, but once again, the crises are piling up for Joan Laporta’s administration, and the financial burdens are not easing.
It is worth noting that Leipzig has welcomed the idea of re-signing Olmo if his contract with Barcelona is terminated, while the player remains determined to stay with the Blaugrana and wait until the last possible opportunity to be registered and complete his season at Camp Nou.
