RB Leipzig has rejected Barcelona’s improved offer for Dani Olmo this summer.
Barcelona increased their offer to 47 million euros, payable in installments, with potential add-ons that could take the total value of the deal to over 60 million euros.
Despite optimism within Barcelona’s offices, Leipzig’s response was clear: they rejected the offer, according to Sky Germany.
Leipzig wants to secure a fixed fee of 60 million euros for the deal, emphasizing that the payment method must be reasonable and not spread out over an excessively long period as Barcelona desires.
The 26-year-old’s value is not limited to just 60 million euros. Leipzig also wants to receive additional funds in the form of variables based on the player’s individual and collective achievements.
Although things seem complicated, Barcelona’s agreement with Olmo keeps the Catalans optimistic that the deal will eventually happen, but it will likely take more time and may be finalized in the final days of the transfer window.
It’s worth noting that Leipzig’s sporting director, Robin Schröder, confirmed that the club is not under pressure to sell Olmo, and that the Germans must benefit as much as Barcelona would from signing the player in order to accept the sale.
