Leverkusen demands a large sum to let Alonso join Real Madrid!

If Real Madrid wants to sign Xabi Alonso, they will have to pay Bayer Leverkusen a large sum, Sky Sports reported.

The German coach’s contract at the BayArena still runs until the summer of 2026, with no release clause, putting Leverkusen in a strong position.

Recent days have already seen discussions between Real Madrid’s management and Alonso’s agent regarding his transfer to Los Blancos and the possibility of succeeding coach Carlo Ancelotti.

For Bayer Leverkusen, the club wasn’t surprised. They have been aware of Real Madrid’s interest in Alonso for some time and have already begun preparing for the post-revolution era of their legendary coach.

However, Leverkusen won’t let Alonso go easily, and are demanding a sum ranging from €15 million to €20 million to allow the coach to terminate his contract and join Real Madrid this summer.

There is currently no direct contact between Real Madrid and Leverkusen. In fact, Florentino Pérez’s administration has yet to decide whether Alonso will succeed Ancelotti or whether he will be another coach like Klopp.

It should be noted that Alonso will be one of the most expensive coaching transfers in history. Julian Nagelsmann’s transfer from Leipzig to Bayern Munich remains the most expensive ever, with the Bavarians paying €25 million at the time.
