After great controversy, Lewandowski decides his future in Barcelona with clear words
Robert Lewandowski, the Barcelona player, stressed that he will remain at the Catalan club next season and is not thinking about leaving, no matter the temptations.
The recent decline in the Polish international’s standards has caused many rumors about the possibility of his departure from Barcelona, amid great interest from Saudi League clubs in obtaining his services.
In a press interview, Lewandowski was asked about these rumours, and he responded in clear terms, ending any controversy surrounding his future at Camp Nou.
The 36-year-old said, “Leaving Barcelona in the summer is not possible. It is an idea that was never presented to me in the first place.”
He also added to the German newspaper Bild, “I feel fine physically. This will remain the case for at least the next two years.”
He concluded, “When I feel that I am not in good physical condition, then I will start thinking about leaving Barcelona.”
Lewandowski’s contract with Barca extends until the summer of 2025, with the possibility of renewal for another year with the joint approval of both parties.
Perhaps the continuation of Xavi Hernandez in his position enhances the possibility of Lewandowski remaining, given that the coach was the most prominent supporter of the former Bayern Munich star in the last two years.
