According to the Mirror, Liverpool have identified Real Sociedad player Takefusa Kubo as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah at Anfield, and negotiations are now advanced for his signing.
Salah’s contract with Liverpool still has one year left, but it is widely believed that the “Egyptian King’s” journey at Anfield will end in the summer of 2025.
The report claims that Kubo’s agent is in England in the last days and has reached a preliminary agreement with Liverpool on all personal terms of the deal.
At the same time, the Reds’ management is in very advanced stages with their counterparts at Real Sociedad, and the signing of Kubo will cost the Reds’ coffers around 60 million euros.
Real Madrid may be the biggest beneficiaries of this deal, as the Merengues own a resale percentage of the Japanese player of around 50%.
Spanish newspaper AS revealed that if the deal goes through for 60 million euros, Real Madrid’s coffers will be boosted by at least 27 million euros.
Kubo joined Real Madrid in 2019, but has been out on loan more than once, starting with Real Mallorca, then Villarreal, then Getafe, and then back to Mallorca before being sold to Sociedad in 2022 for 6.5 million euros.
