Liverpool star Ryan Gravenberch has left the Netherlands national team camp with an injury that will prevent him from participating in Spain’s UEFA Nations League matches.
The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) released a statement announcing that Gravenberch will not be able to play in Spain’s matches. He joined the Netherlands with an injury from his last match for the Reds, against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final.
The KNVB statement read, “The midfielder is still nursing an injury he sustained at the weekend, which prevents him from participating in Spain’s matches. Take care, Ryan.”
Coach Ronald Koeman has not replaced Granberch and will rely on the available midfield players.
In principle, this injury is not expected to affect the Dutch player’s participation in Liverpool’s matches after the international break.
Arne Slot’s first match after the break will be against Everton in the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Wednesday, April 2.
