According to Spanish media, Martinez’s injury is not serious, and he will only be sidelined during the international break. After that, he will be ready to participate in Barcelona’s matches.
However, a serious injury has befallen another Blaugrana star, midfielder Marc Casado, who has also been ruled out of La Roja’s UEFA Nations League quarter-finals squad.
The 21-year-old suffered a torn knee ligament and will be out for at least two months.
In practice, Casado’s season with Barcelona is over. He is not expected to return for another two months, and his absence could extend to three months.
