The British newspaper “The Independent” has claimed that a major swap deal is currently being cooked up between the managements of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Red Devils have a strong desire to sign Manuel Ugarte, and indeed there is an agreement with the player on all terms, but the problem remains in PSG’s high financial demands.
According to the report, a breakthrough could occur in the remaining few weeks of the summer transfer window by exploiting United’s desire on the other side to sign Jadon Sancho.
United’s plan is for the Ugarte deal to be done on a swap basis, with Ugarte moving to Old Trafford, while Paris Saint-Germain gets Sancho on a one-year loan with an obligation to buy next summer.
Although relations have improved between Sancho and his manager Erik ten Hag, the player still does not feel comfortable at United, and therefore he welcomes a move to another club this summer.
PSG’s first target was Marcus Rashford, but it is impossible for United to let him go, so they have settled on Sancho as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe on the left wing.
