Manchester City Gives Guardiola an Ultimatum to Decide His Future

Manchester City management has given manager Pep Guardiola an ultimatum to make a decision regarding renewing his contract or leaving at the end of the current season.

The Spanish coach’s statements about his future remain ambiguous so far, as he has left the door open to continue, while at the same time not ruling out the possibility that this season could be his last at the Etihad Stadium.

According to Sky Sports, City’s management has offered Guardiola a contract extension that expires on June 30th, and has given him a final deadline to respond positively or negatively.

This deadline ends with the start of 2025 to give them a window to search for a replacement if he decides not to renew his contract.

The name of Girona coach Michel Sanchez remains the favorite to succeed Guardiola at City, as he follows the same approach as the Catalan coach and knows how to manage things well at the English club given that the management of both clubs is the same.

Some reports have indicated that Guardiola is the leading candidate to lead the England national team starting from next July after the English FA appointed Lee Carsley as interim coach until next autumn, hoping to secure the services of the Spanish philosopher at the end of his contract with City.
