Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé expressed his delight at equaling Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 33 goals in his first season with the club.
The French international scored two goals in Los Blancos’ 3-2 win over Leganés on Saturday, which he considered a great achievement, but he refused to compare it to Ronaldo.
“It’s special to score the same number of goals as Ronaldo. It’s always good,” Mbappé said after the match.
He added, “I’m in constant contact with Ronaldo, and he gives me a lot of advice that I’ve benefited from a lot.”
He concluded, “We know how much Real Madrid means to Ronaldo, and for me, I’ve benefited from his advice. He’s scored a lot of goals, but we have to win titles now.”
Mbappé is one of Ronaldo’s biggest fans, even posting a photo of himself with Ronaldo as a child when his move to Real Madrid was announced.
