Paris Saint-Germain legend, Jerome Rothen, launched a fiery attack against Kylian Mbappe after his move to Real Madrid, and considered him a “traitorous person who lacks respect.”
Although Rothen was always one of those calling for Mbappe’s departure, he strongly criticized the player’s behavior over the past season and how he did not show the necessary professionalism.
Speaking to Radio Monte Carlo, Rothen said, “Five months ago (when he announced the non-renewal for Paris) and Mbappe did not make enough effort. This is not a problem with a coach, management or fans. It is a problem related to respect.”
He also added, “You must have the necessary behavior and professionalism required when you classify yourself as one of the best players in the world.”
Rothen continued his attack with fiery words, “The season was a disaster from beginning to end, and I am really angry with him. He had to fight for his teammates, his country, and his club, but I think he betrayed us and let us all down in everything.”
He concluded, “I saw him smiling for the first time in France’s friendly match against Luxembourg. We did not see him do that all season with Paris Saint-Germain.”
It is noteworthy that Mbappe participated in Paris Saint-Germain’s victory in the local double, but the French club exited the Champions League in the semi-finals.
The 25-year-old scored 44 goals and assisted 10 others in 48 matches in all tournaments with PSG, noting that he spent the last 5 months on the bench more than usual.
