French football legend Patrick Evra has launched a major attack on national team coach Didier Deschamps for the way he deals with Kylian Mbappe.
The Real Madrid star has been subjected to a lot of criticism for his decline in form since Euro 2024 with the French national team, and after Deschamps’ decision to give him the captaincy as well.
Evra said in this regard, “If I was in charge, I would never give the captaincy to Mbappe, they gave him everything, so how can he be motivated for anything?”
He also added, “Deschamps protects Mbappe, this is clear to everyone, Mbappe plays for Real and does not want to upset President Florentino Perez, and Deschamps helps him with that.”
He concluded, “We are the ones who created the legend of Mbappe because he won the World Cup, but for me he did not come even an inch closer to Karim Benzema.”
It is worth noting that Deschamps decided to exclude Mbappe from the list participating in the current international break despite his recovery from injury, in order to give him more time to work with Real Madrid.
