Kylian Mbappe revealed that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, was the one who paved the way for him to move to Real Madrid to achieve his dream.
The French star conducted a long interview with the Canal Plus network, during which he confirmed that he was not subjected to Qatari pressure to stay with Paris Saint-Germain, but on the contrary.
The Real Madrid star said, “I have a very good relationship with the Emir of Qatar, our relationship has always been great. It was not Kylian against Qatar as some said.”
He also added, “And while we were together in the car and amidst the news that the Emir of Qatar would make a new legendary offer for me to continue with Paris Saint-Germain, he told me something different.”
He continued, “The Emir said: Everyone looks at us and thinks that I will make you an offer to stay, but no, go and achieve your dream, thank you for everything and if you need anything, I am always here.”
At the same time, Mbappe revealed that he almost stayed at Paris Saint-Germain just for his brother Ethan.
“I know that Ethan’s dream was to play for Paris Saint-Germain, and I told him that I could sacrifice Real Madrid for him, but he refused and confirmed that he would leave as well,” he concluded.
After the end of his contract with PSG, Ethan moved to Lille, but he only played four matches this season due to many injuries.
