Marca newspaper confirmed that Kylian Mbappe informed Real Madrid’s medical staff that he is ready to participate against Pachuca in the 2024 Intercontinental Cup final.
The French star was injured during the match against Atalanta in the Champions League last week, and it was said that he will need a rest period of up to 10 days.
In fact, Mbappe missed Real’s 3-3 draw with Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Saturday, and it was expected that he would be absent from the Pachuca match.
But Mbappe has recovered and confirmed that he can participate in the starting lineup against Pachuca, although Carlo Ancelotti is unlikely to take the risk and will likely prefer to rely on him as a substitute.
In the press conference before the match scheduled to be held in Lusail, Ancelotti said about Mbappe, “He trained yesterday and his feelings were good, everything went well.”
He concluded, “We will see what happens in today’s training and we will evaluate his position in the match, but we are optimistic.”
It is noteworthy that Mbappe scored 12 goals this season for Real Madrid in all competitions, and if the Royal Club wins over Pachuca, it will be its second title in less than 6 months after its previous coronation with the European Super Cup.
