Once again, Lionel Messi refused to answer clearly about when he will retire from football, whether permanently or with the Argentina national team.
Al-Barghout is preparing to lead Argentina in the Copa America final against Colombia on Monday morning, and he gave a lengthy press interview during which he discussed matters.
When asked about retirement, he replied, “Only God knows when the end will be.”
The 37-year-old added, “I will continue playing football until the time I feel that I can no longer play.”
He continued, “I want to enjoy every moment without thinking about what will come in the future, or whether I will continue or not. It is something I live every day.”
Perhaps Messi’s statements suggest that he will most likely not retire from international football after the Copa America, and may continue until the 2026 World Cup unless he finds something new.
