Lionel Messi was crowned with a new award, honoring him as the player with the most titles in history
The Argentine had won the Supporters’ Shield with Inter Miami this season, reaching the 46th title in his career.
Messi surpassed Dani Alves and became the player with the most titles, to be honored in a special way in the United States of America.
The American newspaper “Marca” presented a golden statue to the 37-year-old at a ceremony held on Thursday in Miami.
Messi received the statue and then gave a speech in which he said, “I thank God after achieving all my dreams, and I was able to achieve the biggest dream of winning the World Cup, and before that I won many titles with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Miami.”
He added, “At the moment, I only focus on the day, and I try to enjoy everything that happens to me at every moment and we will see what will happen in the future.”
“The end is near and I am enjoying every moment possible. Argentina and Barcelona are my home and now I feel good in a new phase of my life in Miami,” he concluded.
Messi will have the chance to win another title this season when he plays in the MLS play-off with Inter Miami next month.
