Football legend Lionel Messi presented the Golden Ball he won in 2023 to his personal guard, Yassine Cheuko, calling him “the best personal guard in the world.”
Cheuko conducted a long interview where he discussed the humane situations that brought him together with Messi, and how the Argentine star treats him well and never stops appreciating him.
Yassine said in his interview, “Messi is very humble and doesn’t see me as just his bodyguard but also as a friend.”
He added, “We talk, laugh, and get to know each other’s personalities. He always invites me to have lunch with him and treats me well.”
He continued, “When Messi won the Golden Ball and we were on the plane, he said to me, ‘Yassin, carry the Golden Ball.'”
He added, “I thought he wanted me to carry it somewhere else, but when I carried it, he said to his son and wife, ‘Yassin is the winner of the Golden Ball for the best personal guard.'”
He concluded, “I will never forget this beautiful moment. It was a wonderful gesture from the best player in the world. I really feel like I’m part of his family and I try to protect him physically and mentally.”
