West Ham star Michail Antonio was involved in a horrific car accident, according to an official statement from the English club.
A horrific photo of the 34-year-old player’s car after the accident has been circulating in the last few hours, which prompted a clarification from West Ham.
The London club confirmed that the player is currently undergoing treatment, but the statement did not reveal Antonio’s health condition or whether the accident caused him serious injuries.
West Ham wrote, “The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the club are with Michael, his family and friends at this time, and the club will issue an update in due course.”
Antonio is one of the most famous strikers in English football after playing for many clubs such as Sheffield United, Reading and Nottingham Forest, before settling with West Ham since 2015.
The England international striker participated in 15 matches in all competitions this season with coach Julen Lopetegui, where he scored one goal and made another.
