Milan signs Conceicao.. and a surprise about the value of Fonseca’s dismissal!

Milan has completed its agreement with Sergio Conceicao to succeed his compatriot Paulo Fonseca in leading the Italian club immediately.

Milan had dismissed Fonseca on Monday morning due to a decline in results and levels, the last of which was a 1-1 draw with Roma at San Siro.

The Italian club succeeded in securing Conceicao’s signature immediately, who arrived in Italy hours later and is about to sign a contract that will keep him as coach of the Rossoneri until the summer of 2026.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Milan has been in contact with Conceicao over the past month, which made him reject various offers that reached him from South America and Europe.

At the same time, Milan will not lose financially from Fonseca’s dismissal, contrary to expectations, as a coach usually gets the rest of his contract value when he is dismissed, but this will not happen with the Portuguese coach.

Fonseca’s contract with Milan included a clause that allowed the Italian club to sack him within the first 6 months without paying him any compensation, according to Sky Sports.

Conceicao will begin his mission with Milan against Juventus next Friday in the semi-finals of the Italian Super Cup, which will be held in Saudi Arabia.
