Real Madrid legend Luka Modric has refused to set an exact date for his retirement from football, but he has made it clear that he will end his career in the game with one thing.
Modric’s statements came after he led Croatia to victory over Poland in the second round of the European Nations League, scoring the only goal of the match.
When the 39-year-old was asked about his retirement date, he replied, “With me, you can’t know what will happen, we have to take things one match at a time.”
He also added, “I can’t think about the future, when I don’t feel the passion inside me, I will retire.”
He concluded, “Only I feel this passion or not, and only I will decide when I will retire from football.”
It is worth noting that Modric’s contract with Real Madrid still extends until the summer of 2025, and if he performs well this season, it is not unlikely that he will get a new contract for another year.
