Mohamed Salah confirmed that his first and most important goal this season is to win the English Premier League title with Liverpool, not the Champions League.
The Egyptian star’s statements came hours before the Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain match in the first leg of the round of 16 of the same ears.
Salah said when asked about which of the two tournaments (the Champions League and the Premier League) is his favorite, “The biggest motivation for me this season is to win the English Premier League, not the Champions League!”.
The 31-year-old explained his desire to win the Premier League specifically by saying, “I just want to win the title with the city and the fans and live that moment, walking around the streets of the city with the cup will be incredible.”
He concluded, “For 7 years I have always said that the Champions League is the most important, but this is the first year I have chosen the English Premier League.”
Salah previously won the Premier League title with Liverpool in the 2019-20 season, but the celebrations were not huge despite the historic event, due to the Corona pandemic and health restrictions at the time.
This may be the last season for the Egyptian King at Anfield, so he wants to leave an unforgettable memory by achieving the Reds’ second Premier League title in the last 30 years.
