Liverpool are worried about Mohamed Salah’s future, and the secret behind that could be in a joke the Egyptian made to England legend Gary Lineker.
Lineker said that he met Salah recently and asked him about his future and the Egyptian joked with him about “playing for money”.
Lineker explained, “I met Salah for 10 minutes when I went to meet Arne Slot, he is a very nice person”.
He also added, “Salah asked me when did you leave England? I told him at the age of 32 and went to play in Japan for two years”.
He continued, “He said to me, did you go to Japan for money? Didn’t you? I told him yes, I suppose so, and he said to me maybe I will do the same thing”.
Salah then winked at the journalist who was there to confirm that it was just a joke.
But in general, this comes in the context of the great interest he receives from the Saudi League, which is willing to make him receive a salary of up to 200 million annually.
