Mourinho: I hope this player moves to Real Madrid

Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho expressed his hopes for Nico Williams to move to Real Madrid in the future.

Williams is set to leave Athletic Bilbao at the end of this season amid interest from many clubs and the possibility of him leaving the Basque club for just 60 million euros (the value of the release clause in his contract).

Special One praised the Spanish player’s abilities a lot, saying, “At Euro 2024, most people were probably only talking about Lamine Yamal.”

He also added, “Yamal is a great boy, but for me, I prefer to focus on Nico Williams.”

He concluded in his interview with Cadena Cope, “I hope Williams moves to Real Madrid.”

The 23-year-old was close to joining Barcelona last summer, before rejecting the Catalan club’s offer and deciding to stay with Bilbao for another year.

In practice, it seems that Williams’ move to Real Madrid soon is difficult, as the Merengue already has two of the best left wingers in Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe.

It remains to be noted that the club most interested in signing Nico Williams currently is Arsenal.
