Mourinho: I said no to Real Madrid and it’s the biggest regret of my life!

Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho admitted that the biggest regret in his career was his refusal to continue with Real Madrid beyond 2013.

The “Special One” took over the training of the royal club in 2010, before deciding to leave in 2013 after establishing a team that later succeeded in dominating Europe.

In a press interview, Mourinho was asked about the biggest regret in his career, to which he replied, “I said no to Florentino Perez.”

He also added, “Perez told me not to leave now, I have done the hard part and the good part is yet to come, stay at Real Madrid.”

He concluded, “At that time, I wanted to return to Chelsea after 3 years that were very difficult in Spain.”

Mourinho’s experience at Chelsea was not very successful, as he won the Premier League once and was then sacked due to poor results, and from that moment on his career began to decline significantly over the past decade.

Carlo Ancelotti succeeded Mourinho in leading Real Madrid, and succeeded in achieving the “tenth” in 2014, which had been elusive for more than 11 years for Los Blancos.
