Turkish media reported that Jose Mourinho had completed his agreement with Fenerbahce to take over as coach of the team starting next season.
Since his dismissal from coaching Roma last January, Mourinho has been linked to working in Saudi Arabia, but it seems that the paths will not cross even in the medium term.
Mourinho will sign Fenerbahce coaching contracts for two seasons, as he expressed his approval of the Turkish offer, which will earn his successor 15 million euros annually.
At the same time, it seems that the Portuguese has chosen his future beyond Turkey as well, as he imposed a clause in his contract with Fenerbahce that allows him to leave for the Portugal national team at any time in exchange for paying a release clause.
The 61-year-old still regrets rejecting the offer to coach Portugal after the last World Cup and preferring to continue with Roma, and for this reason he decided to leave the door to returning to work in his country again.
Thus, it seems that Mourinho’s work in Saudi Arabia will not be achieved soon, as even if he leaves Turkey, he will remain in Europe through Portugal, unless he finds a new one.
