Fenerbahce’s new coach, Jose Mourinho, confirmed that he very much welcomes Arda Guler’s return to the team, but he ruled out the matter happening due to the player’s desire to continue with Real Madrid.
Guler is one of Fenerbahce’s sons. He moved last summer to Real Madrid after a great competition with Barcelona, but he did not participate sufficiently in his first season at the Santiago Bernabeu.
With Fenerbahce’s contract with Mourinho, there were rumors that the Portuguese coach might return Guler to Turkey, especially since the player aspires to play more matches next season.
When Special One was asked about this matter, he replied, “Without a doubt, I would welcome Güler’s return to Fenerbahce, but only if Real Madrid pays 75% of his salary.”
He also added, “I cannot refuse Guler’s return if Fenerbahce wants and Real Madrid is willing to pay the largest share of his salary.”
He concluded, “I think that Guler is one of the players who wants to continue in a big team like Real Madrid, so it will be difficult for him to return to Fenerbahce.”
It is noteworthy that Guler, 19 years old, played only 12 matches with Real Madrid this season in all tournaments, during which he scored 6 goals, all of which were in La Liga.
