Sky Sports confirmed that Hansi Flick will be accompanied by German assistants in his new mission as Barcelona coach.
The Catalan club announced the dismissal of coach Xavi Hernandez, with the Seville match next Sunday being his last in his position.
According to Sky, Flick will accompany Tony Tablovic as his assistant and Barcelona goalkeeper coach.
Tablovic is the coach who worked with Manuel Neuer since his time at Schalke and remained with him at Bayern Munich until he left a year ago due to a dispute with coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Tablovic’s work with Flick is not limited to training goalkeepers, but he will be an assistant, as was the case in the coach’s upcoming experience with Barcelona.
The second name that will assist Flick in his mission is Marcus Sorge, who has long experience in German territory.
Sorge was Flick’s assistant with the German national team since 2016 with former coach Joachim Loew. He also worked in the youth of Bayern Munich and Freiburg, and was coach of the German U-19 national team from 2013 to 2016.
It is possible that another element will be added to Flick’s technical staff, but so far his identity has not been revealed, although he is expected to be a Spanish speaker to help the coach communicate with the players.
