All signs seem to point to Joao Felix not returning to Barcelona once again, given the Catalan club’s difficult economic situation.
The Portuguese international spent last season on loan from Atletico Madrid, and the Spanish club wants to sell him but is demanding a high fee to allow him to leave.
Barcelona is currently focusing all its efforts on signing Nico Williams first, and to a lesser extent Dani Olmo, along with buying Joao Cancelo, while Felix is almost out of the calculations.
It is clear that Joao Felix has realized this very well, as he has taken a step that makes it clear that he will most likely not play for Barcelona again.
The 25-year-old has removed Barcelona’s name from his Instagram account and has also removed his photo in the Catalan club’s shirt, which he had previously used as his profile picture on the same platform.
Mundo Deportivo has indicated that Barcelona is willing to keep Felix on loan, which Atletico Madrid completely rejects.
It is worth noting that Aston Villa is currently the most likely destination for Felix, as the player is of interest to coach Unai Emery, and the English club can meet Atletico’s financial demands.
