Mundo Deportivo revealed that Newcastle president Yasir Al-Rumayyan has informed the club’s management of its rejection of any offer, regardless of its value, for Alexander Isak.
The Swedish striker’s impressive performances over the past two years have put him on the radar of several major clubs, most notably Barcelona and Liverpool. It was reported that the Magpies were willing to let him go for an initial €150 million.
However, recent reports confirm that Newcastle will not sell Isak even if offered €200 million, as he is Al-Rumayyan’s favorite player and the cornerstone of the English club’s promising project.
Newcastle’s determination to retain Isak has led the club to decide not to set a price for the 25-year-old, to ensure everyone understands that the move is impossible.
Barcelona scouts are said to have attended several matches to closely monitor Isak, who is considered Robert Lewandowski’s successor, while the player himself welcomes a move to the Blaugrana.
Ultimately, however, Newcastle has no intention of letting him and several other key players leave, regardless of the circumstances.
Isak scored in Newcastle’s 2-1 Carabao Cup final victory over Liverpool, securing the club’s first title since 1955.
Isak has scored 23 goals and provided 25 assists in 33 appearances in all competitions this season.
