Neymar da Silva, the Saudi Al Hilal star, expressed his desire to return again to playing in one team with his former colleague and friend Lionel Messi.
Neymar shared a locker room with Messi at Barcelona for years, then they played for two years at Paris Saint-Germain.
In the summer of 2023, Neymar moved to Al Hilal, and Messi was very close to wearing the Blue Wave shirt before he decided to move to Inter Miami.
In statements to ESPN, Neymar said, “I certainly hope to play with Messi again.”
He also added, “But I think that Messi is happy now at Inter Miami, and if he is happy, then I am happy as well.”
He concluded, “Leo is a wonderful person and everyone knows him. I wish him all the best in his future.”
It is noteworthy that Neymar is currently recovering from a cruciate ligament injury, and his statements came against the backdrop of his attendance at the Bahrain Grand Prix, the first challenge of the Formula 1 World Championship.
