L’Equipe newspaper revealed that Real Madrid captain Nacho Fernandez is close to moving to the Saudi League, but not to Al-Ittihad or Al-Nassr as previously rumored.
The Spanish media had revealed that Nacho had agreed with Al-Ittihad, before returning and saying that negotiations were ongoing, but no agreement had been reached between the two parties yet.
At the same time, Real Madrid offered Nacho to continue for another year, but with a significant reduction in his salary, while the upcoming Saudi and American offers for the player are financially attractive.
According to L’Equipe, the newly promoted Al-Qadisiyah club to the Saudi League is the closest to obtaining Nacho’s signature, and negotiations between the two parties are in very advanced stages.
Al-Qadisiyah hopes to build a strong team to compete in the Saudi League, and to do so, it relies on the support of the leading oil company Aramco, which owns the club.
Indeed, Al-Qadisiyah signed Nahitan Nandez and Con Castells, and his name was linked to the inclusion of major players such as Alexandre Lacazette, in addition to the possibility of including Sadio Mane on loan from Al-Nassr.
