Not Alonso .. Real Madrid is considering another coach to succeed Ancelotti

The newspaper “Sport” reported that the Real Madrid administration has not finally settled on who will succeed Carlo Ancelotti in coaching the royal club, whether next summer or the following.

The Italian coach’s contract still extends at the Santiago Bernabeu until the summer of 2026, but he may be ousted this summer if he fails to achieve La Liga or the Champions League this season.

According to the report, the Real Madrid administration is interested in contracting with the current Bournemouth coach, Andoni Iraola, who is at the top of the list of candidates to succeed Ancelotti, along with Xabi Alonso.

Iraola is presenting one of Bournemouth’s best seasons ever, as he led them to occupy fifth place in the Premier League and achieved victory over all the big teams except Liverpool.

For Real, Iraola is an ideal choice, just like Alonso, given that he has extensive experience in Spanish stadiums as a coach and as a player, and offers entertaining football that matches the quality found in Los Blancos.

Real will have to move quickly if the management settles on Iraola, as he is the focus of many big clubs, specifically Tottenham wanting to sign him next season.

Iraola is 42 years old, and had a very distinguished experience with Rayo Vallecano in La Liga from 2020 to 2023, before moving to Bournemouth from then on with a contract extending until 2026.
