Spanish newspaper Sport has reported that Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho has asked his club to sign Barcelona player Ansu Fati.
This is not the first time Fenerbahce under Mourinho has been linked with a Barcelona player, as the Turkish club previously tried to sign Ilkay Gundogan at the request of the “Special One”.
According to the latest report, Mourinho is very impressed with Fati’s potential and wants to acquire the services of the 21-year-old on loan next season.
Fenerbahce management and Fati’s agent, Jorge Mendes, have already been in contact to explore the possibility of signing the player, and the deal doesn’t seem to be easy.
On Barcelona’s side, the club is very welcoming to Fati’s departure in order to save his salary, especially since he has been injured a lot and is practically out of coach Hansi Flick’s plans.
As for the player himself, he has several other offers, most notably from Sevilla, and is expected to prefer joining the Andalusian club over Fenerbahce unless Mourinho manages to turn things around.
