Liverpool managed to achieve three very valuable points from the Community Stadium, after defeating Brentford 2-0 in the 22nd round of the English Premier League.
The credit for this victory goes to striker Darwin Nunez, who participated as a substitute in the 65th minute instead of Colombian Luis Diaz.
The score was tied negatively until the 91st minute, when Nunez took advantage of a cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold, and shot it powerfully into Brentford’s net, giving the Reds the first goal.
Brentford then rushed in search of an equalizer, only to be surprised by Liverpool with an ideal counterattack, from which Nunez was able to score the second goal and secure the three points for Arne Slot’s squad.

The 25-year-old player has been the subject of severe criticism this season, after scoring only 4 goals in 26 matches in all competitions.
Before the Brentford match, Slot expressed his great confidence that Nunez would return to scoring and respond to critics, and the Uruguayan striker has already done that, as has his Dutch coach.
With this victory, Liverpool breaks the streak of stumbling in the Premier League, after drawing in the last two matches with Manchester United and Nottingham Forest.
Mohamed Salah’s teammates reached 50 points and extended the gap with second-placed Arsenal to 7 points temporarily until the Gunners play this round’s match against Aston Villa.
