Paris Saint-Germain maintained its unbeaten record to be crowned Ligue 1 champions for the fourth consecutive time on Saturday, following a 1-0 victory over Angers.
This victory marks PSG’s 13th title in its history, a French record, and its 11th in the last 13 seasons, highlighting its domestic dominance since being acquired by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011.
The victory, courtesy of a goal from Desiree Doue, takes PSG’s tally to 74 points with six matches remaining, 24 points ahead of second-place Monaco.
This title will be a boost for PSG ahead of their most important Champions League match, when they face Aston Villa in the quarterfinals next Wednesday.
It’s worth noting that PSG also has a great opportunity to achieve a historic treble, as they will face Reims in the Coupe de France final at the end of May.
