Officially.. Al-Ahly and Egypt legend announces his retirement from football

Egyptian football legend, Ahmed Fathi, announced his retirement from football.

The 39-year-old Fathi’s career in Egyptian football stadiums spans nearly 20 years, and his most prominent stations were Al-Ahly from 2008 to 2020.

The historic right-back of Egyptian football won all possible championships with Al-Ahly, before leaving for Pyramids in 2020.

With the Egyptian national team, Fathi played 134 international matches, and was one of the knights of Hassan Shehata’s battalion in the historic treble of the African Cup of Nations 2006, 2008 and 2010.

Fathi also played in the 2018 World Cup with coach Hector Cuper and was one of the great leaders of the Pharaohs.

With Fathi’s retirement, the historic 2008 generation of the Egyptian national team has completely retired.
