Barcelona have announced the transfer of Vitor Roque to Real Betis and Clement Lenglet to Atletico Madrid, on loan.
According to Barcelona’s statement, Betis will pay Roque’s full salary, and has an option to buy after the end of the loan, which extends to the summer of 2025 with the option to extend for another year.
The media had previously indicated that Barcelona retains the right to buy back the Brazilian player for 27 million euros, or 30% of any future sale to another club.
In related news, Lenglet renewed his contract with Barcelona until 2027, and moved on loan to Atletico Madrid for a year, and the Madrid club will pay the larger part of his salary, relieving Barcelona of this economic burden.
Unlike Roque, the loan of the French defender to Atletico Madrid does not include a purchase option in the summer of 2025, ensuring Lenglet’s return to Camp Nou.
It is worth noting that Barcelona got rid of young defender Mika Faye this summer by selling him to Rennes, Julian Araujo to Bournemouth, and Chadi Riad to Crystal Palace.
