Officially.. Bellingham suspended, Real Madrid appeals

The Disciplinary Committee of the Spanish Football Federation announced the punishment of Jude Bellingham for what he did towards the referee of the Real Madrid and Osasuna match last Saturday.

The English star was sent off in the 39th minute of the match after saying “damn” to the referee, and Montero wrote in his report that Bellingham insulted him and said to him “damn you”.

The Disciplinary Committee concluded, according to the newspaper “Marca”, that the video does not clarify the nature of what Bellingham said, so he will be punished for contempt and insult, but with the least penalties.

The committee imposed a two-match suspension on Bellingham in the Spanish League, while Real Madrid decided to appeal the decision to reduce the penalty or cancel it completely.

Thus, the 22-year-old will miss the Girona matches at the Santiago Bernabeu, and Real Betis at Benito Villamarín, and will play the Real Sociedad match in the semi-finals of the Spanish King’s Cup.

The final decision is expected to be revealed in the coming days after the appeal, although it is most likely that the penalty will be upheld as is.
