Everton announced in an official statement on Thursday evening the dismissal of its coach Sean Dyche due to poor results.
The English club is in sixteenth place in the English Premier League standings with 17 points, one point above the relegation zone.
Dyche’s dismissal comes after 10 matches in which he failed to achieve any victory, knowing that Everton has only won 3 times throughout this season.
With Dyche’s dismissal, the English media began to put forward the name of Jose Mourinho to succeed him, and to confirm that Everton’s American owners want to start a new project led by the “Special One”.
At the same time, it does not seem that Mourinho will leave Fenerbahce soon, given that things are going well so far in Turkey and his commitment to a two-year contract.
Some reports indicated that the Toffees’ historical coach, David Moyes, is a strong candidate to return to Goodison Park and lead the blue team.
Moyes worked with Everton from 2002 to 2013 before leaving for Manchester United, and is now without a club after leaving West Ham at the end of last season.
