Liverpool announced in an official statement the appointment of Arnie Slot as coach of the English club, succeeding legendary coach Jurgen Klopp.
Last January, Klopp announced his departure from coaching the Reds at the end of the season due to what he called his “running out of energy” and his desire to rest.
Liverpool reached an agreement with Slot a month ago, and according to the media, it paid approximately 15 million euros to its club Feyenoord as compensation to allow him to move to the Reds.
After the Wolverhampton match, and during the fans’ farewell to him at Anfield, Klopp chanted Slot’s name in support of him, and Liverpool announced the next day the appointment of the Dutch coach.
Sloat signed Liverpool coaching contracts for a period of 3 seasons, with his mission with Mohamed Salah’s teammates starting next July 1.
The 45-year-old’s professional career as a coach extends only since 2019, when he coached Alkmaar for a year, then moved to coach Feyenoord, and there he succeeded in achieving only two titles in 2021, namely the league and the cup.
