Bayern Munich announced on Friday evening the renewal of Jamal Musiala’s contract for another 5 years.
Over the past months, negotiations have been in full swing between the Bavarian club’s management and its talented player, but the disagreement was over the salary.
In the end, all parties reached an agreement under which the 20-year-old signed a contract that keeps him at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2030.
Musiala’s salary with Bayern Munich
According to the newspaper “Bild”, Musiala’s new salary with Bayern Munich will be 25 million euros annually, making him the highest paid player in the Bavarian club.
Release clause in Musiala’s contract with Bayern Munich
Musiala included a penalty clause in his contract with Bayern Munich that allows him to move wherever he wants without having to negotiate with the German club.
Bild revealed that the release clause in the German international’s contract is worth 175 million euros.
This clause is valid from the summer of 2025 until the winter of 2029, and from the summer of 2029 until the end of the contract, the penalty clause is only 100 million euros.
Musiala’s numbers with Bayern Munich
Musiala joined Bayern Munich’s youth team in 2019, and was quickly promoted to the first team as one of the best talents in the world.
Musiala has so far played 193 matches with Bayern Munich, during which he scored 58 goals and made 38 others, and won the Bundesliga title 4 times, along with a Champions League title and another European Super Cup.
