The 2024 FIFA Congress announced the identity of the hosts of the World Cup in the 2030 and 2034 editions.
The matter was previously decided based on the files submitted to host the two events, but the FIFA Congress is the final step to make it official.
The World Cup will return to the Arab region again in 2030 after the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The 2030 edition will be held jointly by Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with the first 3 matches for Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay to be held in their countries to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the competition.
The identity of the stadium that will host the 2030 World Cup final remains unclear, as the trio has not reached an agreement in light of Morocco’s desire to host it in Casablanca and Spain’s insistence that it be in Santiago Bernabeu or Camp Nou.
The 2034 edition will be hosted by Saudi Arabia, making it the first country to host the World Cup with 48 teams.
To do so, Saudi Arabia will provide 15 new stadiums, 8 of which will be in the capital, Riyadh, 4 in Jeddah, and 3 between Neom, Al Khobar, and Abha.
